does anybody know how much it'll cost to take it to shop and get it aligned and looked at?

correct me if i am wrong but if you jack up the car and you move your tires up and down is there is movement then more than likely its your wheel bearings. if you move it side to side and there is movement more than likely its your tie rod ends or maybe your rack. i have always heard this so like i said correct me if i am wrong.

That isn't always accurate, but it works pretty well most of the time, or at least gets you pointed in the right direction......worked on my 93 Caprice.

the shop that did my alignment charged me $60

i just got over the same problem persay but what happened with mine was i had bad vibrations from what i thought was the alignment but even though the tires were out of alignment and i got them fixed it still didnt help the vibration. come to find out my drive shaft was only hanging on by 1 bolt the others had backed themselves out and i had bent the weight on the rear end where the pinion is. so the fix was tighten the driveshaft and took the useless weight off and now its runnin like its on clouds

note: my vibration felt like it was coming from the front also and i was getting tire wear in the inner parts of my tires

, take it to an shop they wont charge you anything for check the car out , you could even look underneath it , then get an alignment .......
