chrome removal

Default chrome removal

how do you get chrome off of an intake,, its chipped thats why i want to remove it.

Or you can take sand paper to it, and polish the metal down to a similar looking finish that will last and can't be chipped away. That's what I did.

You could take it to a powdercoating shop or something and have them media blast it for you. Its going to be a bare metal finish though.

Yea, it's gonna fudge up your finish. You'll prolly have to have it polished afterwards. Try a wire brush on a hand grinder.

What kind of intake is it? You could spend a few bucks, have a powdercoating shop media blast it for you and than powdercoat it. Shouldnt cost too much...

use a chemical called tylol. you can get it at a local hardware store. its some intenst stuff, dont get it on your paint. but its made to clean aluminum but i know it takes away chipping chrome. i use to use it on my bike when i use to dirt jump. awesome but nasty stuff
