RE: gears?
Im runnning 3.90's in my 93 aod right now, I would of went bigger but I plan on a charger soon. I would go 4.10's or ATLEAST 3.73's. And you will not see a difference in gas mileage between 3.73's and 4.10's. I didnt even see a difference from 2.73's to 3.90's.

RE: gears?
I think you could get away with 4.30's especialy if you are shifting any higher then 5k with an aod thats n/a. Aods can use a lot of gear to get them going but if gas milage is a concern or you do a lot of highway cruising go with 3.73's.

RE: gears?
you'll turn about 3000 rpm's at 80 mph
i get over 21 mpg on my 5-speed w/ 4.10's ac blowing and all
if you go less, you'll be upset you wasted your money
yes there isa diff between trannies, the aod is so horribly geared, you neeed to go higher than you would to make up for the 1st and 2nd gear ratio's
aod 1st = 2.40
t5 1st = 3.35
multiply that by rear gear for total gear , and you'll see a aod car needs 4.10's to equal a 5-speed w/ stock 3.08's in 1st gear
3rd/4th is 1:1 and4th/5th is equal as well about .68:1
