Looks real to me. I know a guy who has a black LX coupe saleen. Can't remember the year of it but he gave 10k for it. It has cobra Rs also. Awesome looking car. If that ones not real then they went thru hell to make it look that way. He's got documents and everything it looks like.

Those are real flowfit seats with the saleen coverings on it! That is not a stock seat like out of a 85-86 GT like some people think! When I had my saleen I checked on getting new seat covers for mine just to have and they told me they dont make them anymore!

It's real. The small plate right in front of the shifter is barely noticeable in the picture, but it is there. The firewall has the Saleen Vin plate above the A/C evaporator. It has all the correct parts on it.Flowfit seats, Momo steering wheel, ARE wheels and SVO rear brakesbut....

The issue is that it has the wrong stripe kit on it.The 89 cars had stripes below the beltline starting in front of the front wheel and terminating at the rear bumper unless it was one of the white SSC cars that had the grey/yellow chevron stripes. I'm pretty sure that's right... but my memory is getting a little fuzzyand I have no reference books here at work. The color looks to be a factory color but the camera may have tinted it a little so it looks "purple" instead of the deep red it is supposed to be.

the stripes are probably gone cause he says it has been repainted! But they did make that color in 89.

Just like you, I'm well aware of that. I was just quoting what was not factory for that car for the person who asked about it. One would assume that the later stylestripes were put on because of the repaint.

It is real, I verified it with Saleen as promised. This is the response they sent me. They were alot of help and got me a fairly quick answer. Techline@Saleen.com

Yes, I do show that VIN in our database as a Saleen Cabernet hatchback with 3.55 differental.
