aod vs aode
ok i have a 94 gt vert with an aod and my mom has an 02 gt vert with an aode her trans is so much more responsive and just feels stronger to me my question is could that just be because its newer than mine or did ford make the aode's better than the aod's and secondly will the aode fit in a 5.0 like my tranny does or would some modifying need to take place to fit it in there

RE: aod vs aode
If your tranny is stock, then you already have an AODE in your 94 GT. Easy way to tell... how do you get into OD? Do you have to manually shift into OD or does it automatically go into OD when it's in D? Do you have a button you can press to turn OD off? If so, you have an AODE. Also, look at your shifter.
AOD shifters = 1-D-OD-N-R-P
AODE shifters = 1-2-D-N-R-P
AOD shifters = 1-D-OD-N-R-P
AODE shifters = 1-2-D-N-R-P

RE: aod vs aode
As for the reason her's feels more responsive.. She has 260 HP vs. your 215 HP (at the flywheel.) She also has 302 torque vs. your 285. That will make it feel different. On top of that, she the gear rations may be different. And then (as you could imagine) yours could be a little worn out itself.
If you want to make a HUGE difference, swap to 4.10 gears (about $200) and install a shift kit (about $150.) For about $350, you can feel a huge difference and will be hitting the gears hard and fast.
