5.0 questione
ok. i think this may have been asked b4, but, i dont remember, so, if it has, i apologize. is there a difference between a 5.0 H.O. and just the regular 5.0. or, just 2 letters ??? any hp/torque difference, or not ?

RE: 5.0 questione
hrmm lemme try and remember off the top of my head..
Starting from noon...I think it's
------------------------1
--------------------2-------8
------------------7----------3
-------------------6--------4
------------------------5
ugh it's somewhat close to that i think...
I know 1 is numero UNE at noon
and then its 8 clockwise
then to the leftish of one it goes 2? then 7
then i think something else
then 654
could be 1-2-7-3-6-5-4-8
buggah ill find it for ya memory is failing me tonight
Edit: BAH was close with second guess
1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

RE: 5.0 questione
the major difference, besides the firing order, between the standard 5.0 and the 5.0 HO is that the HO uses a roller cam and roller lifters while the standard uses a flat tappet lifter and standard flat tappet camshaft. this means the blocks are slightly different between the two also as the lifter gallery is different for the roller block. this is also why the HO can make more HP than the standard since the roller lifter has much less frictional losses and can follow a more radical cam lobe profile designed to open and close the valve more rapidly than a flat tappet lifter can.
the 5.0 HO uses the same firing order as the 5.8L (351ci) engine which is different than the standard 5.0 order
