Default Mass Air Meter

Ok so I wanna upgrade a throttle body.... I know that you are supposed to upgrade Mass Air Meter at the same time...

Well going withn a 70mm throttle body... go with a 75mm mam?

Also i see a lot of 24# injectors on the mass air meters? Is it bad to run that setup with the stock 19#?

Thanks!

you have to run a meter calibrated for your size injectors. c&l makes a nice one for about $100. they have it in 73mm and 76mm. the 73 is the one that is $100. as long as the maf will lager then the tb you will be fine

the mass air meter has to be calibrated for the size of the injectors used or the engine won't run right, so you cannot use a 24# injector mass air meter with 19# injectors. if you have not changed the cam or heads, you are wasting your time going with a bigger MAF meter also. I just installed a 65 mm throttle body on my basically stock engine and it didn't make it any quicker or faster at all and I've got the time slips to prove it too. I've read somewhere, probably here, that the stock 19# injectors are good for up to about 300 HP before they need to be upgraded to the next larger size up.

http://www.jdsperformance.com/index....tem&inmake=all i have this one
http://www.jdsperformance.com/index....tem&inmake=all this one is just as good.

id say do the tb and maf before cam and heads. when you get those new heads and cam in, they are going to want a lot of air and with the stock maf and tb you would be able to give it to them

think you misspoke here didn't you??? I think he shouldn't change until he changes the cam and heads like I already said.

I believe going with a bigger maf is the thing..my car picked up about a .10 with the change...with a stock t/b......I used the 76mm c/l and clocked it...now it has a 65mm t/b on it..no change

304 hp actually, they can be made to support more though with higher that recommended fuel pressure. How far you rev has a big impact on this number though
