Long Headers

RE: Long Headers
BBK. And long tubes will be more efficient after ~350bhp, before that you'll lose low end torque. IMO, if you plan on continuing the modding, the temporary/small loss of power is worth not having to buy/install new headers a little while down the road

RE: Long Headers
personaly i dont think there is that much difference granted i am blown but i have had both on my car, and i dunno bout you but i find myself changing header gaskets alot. i would keep shorties unless it is on a drag car and you are running open headers

RE: Long Headers
Long tubes made a pretty big difference on my car, i believe this because of my dyno numbers. Most guys who run afr165s with my setup make around 300rwhp, and I made 322rwhp with a smog cam through cats. However, they are only good on a car that is making a decent amount of power like 300 crank horsepower or more. Otherwise they make the car loose low end torque like said above.

RE: Long Headers
yea they are definitely more of a pain i agree with you there, and due to the 02 sensors being down further, I have to give mine gas to get it to start a lot of the time, and dies a lot at idle.

RE: Long Headers
unless open i hate them, i had them on my car when i bought it and i hated them. our drag cars have them but there is no exhaust to get in way and there is nothin in engine bay. just a pain in the a##
