Default getting rid of smog pump

what kind of diff well this bring to my car? i have a ideal of it but not the facts?

i didn't feel a difference....but it cleans up the engine bay a good bit with that pump and hoses gone! it was worth it just for that to me

+1 Thats the only reason why I removed mine, plus I didnt feel like dealing with it when the time comes to swap headers. If you dont care what your motor bay looks like, than just keep it. Its really not worth it to remove, your not gaining anything.Maybe 1hp!

when i reomved mine...i left the pipe that wraps around from the back of the driver's head...how can i block it off? i'd like to take it off...it is just capped right now where the rubber hose went on

Its a HUGE PITA! I dont know how people do it without air tools because I was using a cut off wheel and it still took my like an hour to get that piece of sh*t off. I just cut it in like 4 pieces... pulled it out. Capped the back of the heads and capped it at the h pipe.

i have the tranny out changing the clutches, flywheel, and rear main seal....i can see where i need to plug it...but looks like i would need some type of plate like on the passenger side head....

plate? no... Just two bolts. One for each side. And than I got a rubber cap to plug the h pipe... and put a small hose clamp on top of it to keep it in place. Worked perfect.

i got some gt-40 marine heads so they had caps already in them its so nice not having all of the cluter
