MOTOR MOUNTS
my car has solid motor mounts on it. i would like to get it to about 400 horses and save my block at the same time. ive herd both posotive and negative for the solid mounts. some people say they make vibration worse and others say its the way to go for high horsepower engines. can anyone shed some light on this please

well 400 is harley high hp...going to a poly ENGINE mount would be the ticket for a street car...if you need more then using a cable bolted to engine and frame will help more in lean of the solid mounts. torque is loss thur stock rubber mounts

RE: MOTOR MOUNTS
alright here's what you need to know. The solid motor mounts will produce far more vibrations, both causing stress to your motor and an annoying vibration if you drive the car everyday. The advantage for high horsepower cars to use solid mounts is that the motor torques to the side under extreme power, and can rip out a stock rubber mount. The metal mounts won't break. It does take more than the power your talking about to trash a stock style mount. Get a poly mount from Energy Suspension, and you'll have the best of both worlds. Or, you can also get the mounts from a convertible V8 car as they are strengthened a bit, but still not solid all the way.
