what are the main governing factors on a 5.0 L stock engine? i can only get about 115 mph top speed with a full car of people. I have only replaced spark plugs with bosch +4 and put on a custom high flow air intake. i think there is something on the fuel pump to restrict fuel flow at a certain rpm. and also, is an aftermarket exhaust such as borla or cherry bomb a good investment?
THANKS!!
borla yes cherry bomb haha thats a noand 92hatchlx is right they are sh!ttiest plugs you can buy get yourself a nice set of ngk or original motorcraft

I'd sayskip on the NGK's too, I'm running their v-power plugs right now and they're nothing special. But spending money on"special"plugs isn't going to help you unless you've got some type offorced induction ornitrous. I like the autolite's.

One more thing, I was running cherry bomb turbo mufflers on my car, they sounded like ****. If finally got the brains and switched over to a full 2.5"MAC catback. Man, what a difference, cherry bombs really choke your motor.

I have had my 91 convertible (with many chassis mods)to an indicated 139mph in Nevada 2 years ago.No issues, car was very stable.

I am the original owner, the car has about 42,000 miles with 3:27 final gearing. Car would not do redline in 5th but came close in 4th. The engine, trans and clutch are stock. The entire exhaust was upgraded about 10 years ago.

I too like the stock plugs.

ya no governor on 5.0. Top speed should be around 130 and up depending on transmission and gear.
