need a real quick answer
on my year alternator, is the voltage regulator external or internal? its messing up real bad and i need to know if all i need is the regulator or a whole new alternator cause if thats the case i'm gonna buy the sn 94 95 alternator and conversion kit.

you can take the stock alternator off of a 94 or 95 mustang and there is a conversion kit to put it on previous year mustangs 83-93 the benefit being that my stock alt runs at 75 amps and the 94 95 alt runs at 130 amps. plus it is cheaper to get the 94 95 mustang alt with conversion kit than going down to autozone and getting a stock alt for the 83-93 mustang

the regulator is internal, and there really isn't a conversion kit. just some wire spliceing.
