how do you pull 286 rwhp with a stock cam? how is that possible? i want to throw the BS flag right now... anyone agree?
most people dont realize just how good the stock cam is. Ive seen a couple 300+ hp cars on the stock cam... you need the proper intake and heads to make it work... but its entirely possible

He probably goes to New England Dragway...

They are sponsored by dodge, and the lanes are named as such...

Dodge lane, and Hemi lane

very nice times, why did you have to go through emissions? Here in ontario if you vehicle is 1987 and before you dont have to do emissions. so with my 86 all i have to do to get plates would be safety and not safety and emissions. I do have to get an appraisal to changes the ownership (this is for any vehicle 20 years and older).

I guess we are lucky? i will be runing a o/r 3" h pipe and possibly dumps with my mild 351w setup.

Actually I helped put this motor together, and have been racing with this motor in another car for a while now. With 24 lbers it made 290+ and has been 12.00 @ 112, and 7.48 @ 90 in the 1/8th on a cooler day in another chassis! The car is a 100 street car, and did made 286, and the cam is the original cam from the motor.

As a matter of fact my stock cam, E7 car made 272/316 a few years ago. No porting, just a good valve job, better valves in the heads, stock cam and bolt ons did it!

Power means nothing, timeslips mean more. Look for some easy 12.3s or 12.2s this fall with the car, once the driver gets used to it, and the weather cools down!

In Connecticut, I think it was 1983 and older this year. In a few years, it will be exempt.

AdderMK2 has it right - NED has lanes marked Dodge and Hemi. I was in the Left lane

This is not magic, guys. Prior to last year, the rules for NMRA Factory Stock required stock cams - and a lot of those guys put a lot more power down than 286.On my car, the GT40Ps are decked (10.5:1 compression) and havehad a multi-anglevalve job.The engine (100% bone stock short block) will hit 300 hp with justa few mods - I am still running power steering, stock water pump, a stock fanand an alternator. I am runnig 19 lb. injectors. If I run electric accessories and a 16 V battery, it would probably hit 300 hp, no problem.

By far the most restrictive part of the 5.0s are the heads. Let them breath (head work and a better intake) and they will make power for longer. This car makes 270+ hp all the way up to 6000 rpm. Heck, my brother's car still has E7s (with some work done to them), stock cam and a Cobra intake and has seen 272 on the dyno - with all the accessories.

Anyone who really doubts my claims, check out the NMRA Factory Stock class over the last 5 years or so. Theengine ran in car 6157 (owned by Jeff Pulaski) for the last few years, running as low as 12.00 in the quarter. It ran 7.48 in the eighth at E-town last year, which equates to about an 11.70 quarter. In bigger hp applications, a more aggressive cam is a must. If 12s and 250-300 hp is the goal, spend the money elsewhere - the stock cam will be fine.

Probably not too well, as suggested...
