Why would my car need tuned? I dont have hardly anything done to it. Just an exaust and gears basically. The pump wouldn't affect anything. I am planning on a top end kit this summer so i am hesitant to spend the money for a chip.

like i said before, A tuner will be able to look into what your car is actually doing, and could tell you if you have any bad sensors

Whats this tuner you speak of Adder, how its hook up or is it for OBD-2 cars?

last time i checked, nobody in this forum ran OBD-II in their cars... so why would I mention it

The EEC-IV system was equipped with a data streaming feature.. which some diagnostic tools (like the Snap-On BRICK) can tap into...

I have datalogged all of my cars functions before... thats one of the ways i found out that my cats were broken

I see, so 94 + mustangs dont have OBD-II i guess?, know it was introduced in 94 but not sure of they had them in stangs, which i guess they dont since they still had EEC-IV's in them...............

I have an old NGS star tester that I bought from a friend. Its like Snap ons brick but its Fords specific scanner. I didn't see anything odd in the data stream last time I checked it. I found out my o2 sensors heater circuit wasn't working however. I fixed that and my car ran better when it was cold. I donno, it just seems like I could get alot newer car for the same money it would take to fix this one and get some serious power out of it when I could just buy a cobra/terminator. I could afford the payment but I dont want it. My wife wants me to get one though. I love my car, but it would be nice if it was realible.

94-95 v6's had it.. but the 5.0 was still obd-1

ok it has to be bad gas. cuz my car used to ping like a mother. i used to put 87 in it then i put 89 in it and it pinged less and now that im usin 93 it doesnt ping n e more. its the 10% ethanol they are putting in the gas now.. it loweres the octane rating. so run that gas completely out to empty then fill up w/ 93 and it should solve ur problem

Ethanol in fact lower combustion chamber temperatures...it doesnt lower the octane rating
