Default alternators electric fans and pulleys

ok i was wondering if the higher amp alternators take more power from the engine to create the amps? i wasnt going to use the alternator underive pulley but can i if i get a bigger alternator. i also want to run an electric fan

I dont think they would, not 100% on this, but id think its just how the winding are on the inside

I had the underdrive pulley on my 130 amp alternator and it still didnt charge right until I put the original alternator pulley back on.

BTW- the stock 3G '94 Mustang alternator pulley is the same size as the Fox underdrive pulley.

yeah maybe ill skip the alternator pulley. even if im going with a bigger alt. i herd those electric fans are a HUGE drain on you batt

Yeah dont use the pulley with them kits on the alternator.............i guess people claim it will discharge the system

Are underdrives really worth the $money$?.. if i have a 130amp 3g alt, will charging be a prob... should i use the alt underdrive pulley or still keep the one i got on there now...

Putthe stock 75 amp alternator pulley on the 130 amp alternator.
I was having charging issues with the underdrive pulley on the 130. My headlights were dimming and the gauge was reading below normal at idle. Now its right where it should be and the lights are bright like they should be.
