BEST ECU TO USE WHEN TUNING??
I have a 88 LX with a 327 stroker in it and am installing mass air at the moment and was wondering what was the best ecu to use? I heard that a 93 Cobra one was the best? Is this true? Is an auto ecu better than a manual? Im running a 24lb injectors and I believe my mass air is 75mm...
Thanks,
Evan

RE: BEST ECU TO USE WHEN TUNING??
The only reason to use the X3Z is if you want to use 24lb injectors and a stock Ford MAF.
The advantage of the the Ford MAF is accuracy. There is a much smaller risk of MAF related issues when using a Ford meter, as compared to an aftermarket unit.
If you are not going to use the Cobra MAF/MAS, then there is no advantage to the x3z.
You will be able to find an A9* computer quicker than an x3z.
There are some ignition timing differences between the A9L and A9P, but you won't feel the power difference.

This way you won't have any issues getting the car to run, so you can actually drive it to the tuner.
The custom tune will allow any injector and MAF combo you can dream up.
For getting the car to the dyno, just find a stock 55mm 'F1ZF' MAF/MAS and run the 19lb injectors. Once the car is at the shop, they can install the new MAF and injectors. OR make sure the MAF is calibrated for the injector/computer.

Pass on that sucky cobra maf..why not use a stand alone. then you could use a 90mm lightening maf

A standalone is not required to run an LMAF.
When running an X3Z, there is nothing wrong with a 93 Cobra MAF.
