When you hit 4500 or so, does the rpm not want to climb higher??? Is there any missing or stumbling in the engine itself??? Ok, check this out, put the car in neutral and rev it up and see if it goes past 4500 without a problem. If it does, it's prob the tranny.

check timing, cap, rotor, wires and plugs... basically, give your ignition a good tune up... most likly will solve your problem
