I agree with everyone. You will want to start with a valvebody, with an electric od delete, then higher stall converter, and trans cooler. My brother's got a trans am w/ a 6-speed and it is a blast to drive on the street, but for track use you cant beat a built auto! I cant wait until my torque conveter gets here!

I have a 91 gt with an aod with 4.10 gears exhaust and shift kit. the car runs 14.3 every time at the track.
5 speed is deffinetly more fun though.

Built AOD, Reverse pattern valve body, trans brake, HUGE cooler, 3600 converter, B&M shifter, reinforced drums, good stuff. Auto FTW baby!!

i had a beefed up aod 3000 edge racing stall..ect and a manual vb,and i could change gears when i wanted too..now i have 5 speed i have more fun with 5 speed..,but you cant shift gears better then a good tuned auto..
