check to make sure your maf is clean cause dirt will throw off the reading on how much air is getting to the motor which would cause it to run lean and basically have no power after like 4000 so try that and see if it gets better

Well everyone seems to have had a similar problem, but mine seems even more relative. Yes it does have to fuel. It sounds like the baffle in your gas tank. Black snake and myself had that problem. I had thought I ran out of gas one time, sure enough I hadn't, but how was I suppose to know my gauge was broken since it wasn't working. Anyhow I had been using my trip and it wasn't time. Then I got some more gas drove it for another couple days, when I'd take corners or accelerate anything above the norm it would cut out. I find out this baffle in the tank which holds the gas close to the fuel pump was floating all around when it should have been stationary, also I found out why my gauge wasn't working, the baffle destroyed the fuel sending unit into three pieces. ANYHOW check your gas tank, drop it, shake it... If you hear a sound, time for a new one.

Dang, sorry about the hopes I had. Howcome you know this already, did you drop the tank and check or did you have some other method.

seriously, replace your fuel filter. weird as it may sound, for some reason a clogged fuel filter will caus that esitation when u punch the throttle, and make it run rich at the same time, beats me, but i think the fuel pump tries to compensate and screws it all up. the fuel filter should be under the car in front of the fuel tank i believe.
I agree, try the cheap fix first...fuel filter...I've had the exact situation on a number of cars / trucks. And besides, you can always use a clean new filter!

Sorry, should have read entire post...
