Default What 351w block??

hey i am looking into putting a 351w into my 92 hatch back, I was going to stroke the engine to about 408ci. and eather put a supercharger or a turbo system on it. now the question is what kind of block should i use for the build, i am trying to keep this as low as possible and looking for somwere in the neighborhood of 600-750 HP, what about forged internals, should i get everything forged or just some of the rotating pieces forged?? for the block i heard that a good 351 starting point was a 1993 lighting block? what do you guy's think
thanks for your help

a 93 lightning block would be ok, but if you want cheap, go to your local junkyard and find one out of a low 90's f150. as for the forged internals, get all forged rotating assembly. and for the power adder definatly a turbo, try www.hellionpowersystems.com for the best turbo kit.

Its definetly possible, but its out of most peoples capabilities. Theres a few turbo diesel trucks that people have taken the turbo's out of and used. Oh, and if your doing a boosted 408 your definetly gonna want to have a forged rotating assembly. I dont know much about which 351 blocks will handle the power best, so i cant give a recommendation there.

That link looks familiar

600-750hp is starting to push the limits of the 351w block, but it should do ok if the rpms don't get sky high.
Some will say the 351w can handle 750hp easily, others say a little lower. It depends on who you ask...

Forged 408w kits aren't too pricey. I found mine for about $1,800 IIRC.
You still need to balance it.

The above link has some info on what blocks will accept hyd roller lifters.
It can get confusing, so don't feel bad about asking more questions.
