Definately possible...The guy who put my gears in has a '70 Maverick with a 351W on it and it does 11.50s all day. That car was never meant to have a V8 in it either.
Except when they put the 302 in it I don't know why everyone hates Maverics. Wouldn't be my first choice, but would I take an old Grabber for a strip car? In a second.

Go to this site, He runs at my local track, I saw 7.98 @173.3 out of this car... It is absolutly amazing to watch this thing run.

That thing is rediculas! It looked like the turbo was going to blow the hood offat the end ofthat dyno pull!

Yeah...but something with the headers on a 351W make it a hard swap...I think they rub somewhere.

I LOVE mavericks, i used to have a 77 four door. It had a 302 with 351 heads. Wasn't very fast and the trans slipped but it was fast enough to beat ahonda with an msd box, a dc header, and an edelbrock intake. I wrecked it though, it was before I knew anything about cars, it had a v8 and it wsa a blast to drive thats all I cared about. I spent 300 for a dual flow master exaust on it and i loved it!
