As of right now i want to get heads for my car next...i have the Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, so should i go with the Performer heads or the Performer RPM Heads?

What is the difference?

I believe the edelbrock heads are one of the best out there, especially as far as flow #'s go. i think the afr's out flow them a little. but the edelbrock's definitely hold a strong second place! if you look long enough there should be a thread with all the flow #'s. i dont really know the difference between performer and performer rpm, i thought that difference was just in intake manifolds.

I didn't list them because the test was a comparison of the heads only where nothing else was changed except the heads for each test. the engine was a CHP 306 C.I. short block with 2 bolt mains and some I-beam rods and forged Probe racing flat top pistons that gave a compression ratio of 9.1:1 with the stock E7TE heads installed. the cam was a Comp Cams XE264HR with .512" lift, a dual pattern duration split of 212/218 at 0.050" with a 114 degree lobe separation angle. they also used ARP head studs and Fel Pro 1011-2 head gaskets. the intake was a Performer PRM air gap with a Barry Grant 650 Speed Demon carburetor with mechanical secondaries. they also used an MSD distributor and a set of Hooker Super Comp 1-5/8" long tube headers and a CSI electric water pump.
the entire test article is in the Sept 2003 issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords mag.
