another option for you............
use stock EEC computer for Fox Mustang 5.0 ( available new or used )
then use www.tweecer.com to modify for a custom tune.
Tweecer RT is supposed to be very user friendly.
There is also the FAST standalone system.
all these systems require a good bit of knowledge to tune with.
myself I just went to a local dyno tuner and they used
the STC tuner system that they program on site adjusting with
dyno pulls and allows for 4 different tunes to be loaded in,
Street
Strip
Valet
Boost/Spray.
ect. ect.

adder does megasquirt com with all the wiring needed to hook up and how user friendly is it?
r.barn i looked in to tweecer and it take sa lot of research to learn.
but i think they all will take some time to learn. XFI is the newest FAST system.
thank you both for the help!
anyone ever use a FAST / XFI or PMS?

i have the pms in my car. its retardedly simple to use. plus the handheld doubles as a multi function gauge with about 10 different readings on it. with my new motor i plan to get the interacq software so that i can have even more control over my motor. the interacq software allows you to tune the car with your laptop and data log everything the car does: afr, incoming air temp, rpm, water temp, load level, injector duty cycle, injector opening time in milliseconds, degrees of timing, etc. its all recorded and you can play it back unlimited times.

The tweecer seems better suited for guys who want excellent drivability & power AND have curiousity about what Ford did with the EEC-IV.
If you don't care about learning the Ford programming then a stand alone or pms would be a better option.
I have struggled more with learning the Ford system of programming, than I have with learning the tweecer software (CalEdit).

the pms has no settings for ac. the pms wont have any issues tuning a car with ac but you cant modify the way ac works with the pms.......at least on the 5.0 motors you cant
