How much??

RE: How much??
3,000 easy... What year is the motor, what is it out of? Carb or Fuel injected? These are all important. Most 460's were made as torque monsters and didnt have gobs of HP. The cost for swapping one in isnt cheap either... If you are wanting a strip car I would say get a 351 or a 331 before you do a 460.

RE: How much??
Pre 1973 they were rated at 365hp after 73 they range from 210 to 275. Dosent really cost that much jegs sells a kit that has the motor mounts/headers/oilpan/oil pan gaskets/ dipstick/oil pump/pickup/oil pump shaft for around 800$ Get a TCI street c6 i think its rated at 650hp and there bellhousing which is around 200 and ur basicly good to go.Ofcourse ull still need some other odds and ends but ull mostly have everything ull need.

dont forget the hood, from what I understand you need a 3in cowl hood to clear the motor. And cheap is only if you go carb, fuel injected is where it gets expensive and turns into a PITA.

RE: How much??
im not all together sure about what size motor to build up but this 460 might be free so, ehh why not. I look at it like this, why build a 302 to a 351s power, 351's to a 427, so on and so forth. if im gunna build anything might as well start with a big building block ya know
