Beware of used parts.......

Beware of used parts.......
The TFS heads I bought are paper weights as they set at this moment. The guy I bought them from has stepped up to help cover the cost of repairs though. Just be cautious about buying used parts to save yourself the headaches I am going through right now. The problem with them is the guide are worn out. It is a wearable item which is suspected but the cost of the repairs is not. I called TFS today to see about getting a local shop to fix them. They advised me that the pedestal mount rockers will multiply the wear on the guides on a cam over .500 lift. Now this means in order for me to run these heads I have to send them to TFS to get them converted to stud mount rockers and new guides which is gonna run about $600 on top of what I paid for them. The reason for haveing to send them to TFS is for the conversion due to the compound angle the stud has to be installed so they say. No machine shop around knows these angles and will not attempt to convert them because of this. Just for future reference if you wanna buy somethingused make sure to check it out in person and, real good no matter the trouble it causes the seller. To make sure you get your money worth. This is just a heads up to those of you thinking about buying used parts.
Just needed to vent for a few minutes and, give some advise to some people possibly thinking about buying use performance parts.

RE: Beware of used parts.......
I think it really depends on what kind of used parts your buying. Me personally I would never buy used aluminum heads, but smaller things maybe. That sucks though man, how much did you pay for them?

Smaller things yes head only if you know what you are getting. I should have taken them apart and checked before I paid for them.
I paid 900 for them but they are ported out by very reputable shop Kasse Ever heard of them. So I was willing to pay a little more considering I also got a nice flow bench sheet with them.

RE: Beware of used parts.......
Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Please step away from the crack pipe. If you just drill and tap them like you are saying. What do you think happens to the geometry of the valve consider they are canted? You my friend need to do some research before posting about something of this nature.not trying to be an a*shole about it just correcting this before everyone thinks it is possible.
