RE: Clutch hard to push in
There also seems to be a plate bolted to what looks like the bottom of the frame behind the subframe connectors. Is that there to help the torque boxes? I told the wife i needed something to work on and i would get something we both could agree on well she is a ford gal and am im a chevy guy so if i was to run a ford it was late 80's early 90 stang. Car takes off great no wheel hop just a lot of tirespin for now

No not at all i like the fuel injection electronic ignition and a ton of aftermarket stuff for them. Im not against ford but just needed something to slap around the local rice burners. But the guy before me had put a 88 front end on it but it does look good and he gave me a list of stuff he did too it just ran out of time to play with it

Havent really decided yet I like the front ends on the 88's and newer but iI do like the four eyes since ya dont see alot of them anymore. For now will prob run it like it is has a bit of surface rust where the paint wasnt taken care of but no holes just on the surface. We looked for a while and couldnt find anything else that was in decent condition.

RE: Clutch hard to push in
I've seen old pressure plates be hard to push too. I had a hard to push pedal in my 93. When I replaced my transmission I bought a new clutch also. The clutch shop tested my old and new pressure plate. The old was 2400lbs, new 2300lbs. This is only a 5% difference but the new one was about 1/2 the effort of the old one. ? ? ?
Mentioned it because I've seen that before on some 4 cyl cars too. A new pressure plate makes the pedal effort alot lower?
I have a Centerforce on my Ram. It's so light I can push it with my hand. It has more power than my Mustang and it's definately heavier. It'll bark the tires into 2nd and 3rd so it's not slipping.
It's convinced me, pedal pressure is not neccessary for clamping pressure.
