Default 4.6 Fox

A buddy of mine has a 4.6L motor and he wants to buy a fox body that doesn't have a motor or is in needof a new one and put the 4.6 in that. The 4.6 is from a wrecked '97 T-Bird. I know it only has 205hp but they are doing a PI cam swap and a couple minor things. It is going to be a father son project car and doesn't need a lot of hp. If anyone knows of anyone in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, or Maryland area with a project Fox that is for sale let me know.

Also any advice would be good no matter how stupid this sounds.

Oh yeah another thing... would a 4cyl Fox's suspension hold up with a 4.6 in it?

It's not worth it...unless they can do a lot of fabrication, they won't be able to do it. Recently there was an article about putting mod motors into a Fox body and they had to cut apart the firewall and the cowl to get it to fit in...I dunno if that's something they want to do. The accessory brackets aren't in the same spot, either, and you need to replace the fuel system...Basically everything needs to be redone...It's not a case of just dropping the engine in.

yeah I figured that lol. I was just trying to show him how much work would go into it. He has all accessories on the motor and what ever he needs from the T-Bird.

if it's not a 4 cam cobra engine it's a waste of time putting the ugly slow engine in a fox[&:]

4.6 can handle more power daily than a 5.0. Im talking about in the 500-600hp figures.

But for the work that is going to be needed its definatly not worht it. Should sell that motor and buy a 5.0 and put it in.
