Can one take a Lincoln Conti 5.0 motor and drop it into a say 95 Mustang?

there all about the same, the cont assuming its the small linc and not the big linc, reason the two are different is which side the throttle body is on, but intakes can be changed, something to think about !

Interesting... and thanks for the info. I will have to investigate further. What makes this nice is the older Conti has few miles on it. It belonged to the now deseased wife of a disabled elderly man in the neiborhood. Just sitting in their garage, he has me charge the battery, start it on occassion and keep air in the tires. It's a big clunker!
