ditch the 86... get the 05, sell it, and buy an SN-95 5.0 Cobra
+1 If the 05 is THAT good of a deal you should be able to sell it for a profit fairly easily, then get another, cleaner 5.0

personally i think a well restored 5.0 will turn more heads than an 05 thats just my opinion. 5.0 all the way!!! easier to work on and you can find parts everywhere!

i would go with the newer car. I love foxes, but if it is THAT good of a deal go for it. 3v's respond well to mods also!

let me elaborate abit more, I dont even have the title to the 86 right now, hopefully the crackhead owner is dead or doesnt have a registered address, anyway, I need a car that will be able to drive 650 miles a week without breaking down every so often for a new job that pays 24-26/hr, the only thing holding me back right now is adequate transportation, and right now my ****ty 8.25/hr job is barely making the rent and bills. so theres no way to fix my 86 right now.

been talking with my dad on the situation and said he gave me an idea on how to keep both, he'll help with the payments for about 2-3 months while I get settled into my new job then I'll take over the payments and be able to afford not only the 05 but also restore my 86.

This all of course assuming I get to keep the 86, remember that little tidbit about no title? well, the registered owner was a crackhead renting out some guys apartment, well the landlord took him to court for unpaid rent and won, junkie didnt have the means to take the car so he left it, 4 years later I happen to find the 86 through craigslist, right after "The Incident", for 200 bucks, feeling depressed, I HAD to have this car, didnt matter no title or not, now I waited 4 months before filing the paperwork so if the crackhead does claim it, I can charge for having the vehicle fixed ($100parts + $250labor ) and for storage fees($20 a day for 4 months), that come out to $2750 total, Im sure no crackhead will be able to afford that. I will be going in as a mechanic that I was given this car to fix and the guy that brought it to me was the "owner" and then abandoned the vehicle.

Even IF I lose the 86, it will give me more reason to go for the '05 GT

next couple of days will be crucial......

BTW this is just **** ing sexy

Asa former Ford tech and being familiar with the 3V, I'd say go with the '05 if you can afford it. That doesn't mean I'd ever seel out my 86, unless it's wrecked bad...

do both...buy the 05 and park the 86...it can wait until you are up and running and ready to stick some more cash in it...

You should buy that car. Put a blower on it and be happy! Those 4.6's take lots of boost very well!
