Default Mystery Shifter?

The 92GT I bought this summer had a few basic mods done to it including a mystery shifter for the 5speed; which after many searches on this site and others I believe is a Hurst? It has a gold base and what looks like the marking “GER” on both sides of the shift handle. The shifter itself works great; it has positive stops, spring loaded third, and a pretty short throw. The problem is that the guy who had the car before me just stuck the shifter from his Trans Am on it. That shift **** of course doesn’t fit so you kinda have to just push it on and hope you don’t pull it off during fast shifting. I can’t find a shift **** that fits on this mystery shifter. Does anyone have an idea what kind of shifter this might be? Also, is their a specific way to measure the threads or shifter for fitment? Thanks for the help in advance, I know this seems like a pretty basic problem but it has eluded me for the last 5 months! I also included pictures of the stang that I took right after I bought it. I need to get out and take picturesof the new mods but its too cold!

there is a tool that measures threads you have to know that, course or fine thread and diameter of bolt and i'm sure you'll find a match.
