Default friction modifier and royal purple

i just noticed the royal purple gear oil has a friction modifier in it already. i used it last weekend when i put my gears in and added friction modifier. was that gonna hurt anything? i'm changing my axles this weekend and going to have to put new oil in again and ordered another bottle of modifier because i didn't realize that the royal purple had it already. will it help having extra friction modifier? what the heck does friction modifier do anyhow? ok thanks.

It shouldnt hurt. It helps the clutches work.

The modifier allows the clutches to slip, with out it you rearend would chatter and wear out quickly. All synthetic gears lubes have modifier in it already(future reference) It wont hurt having too much that I know of.

I don't know about your auburn...sorry didn't read well enough. Do you have to run modifier with the auburn?

i'm not sure. i just assumed since it was a limited slip. i guess it sounds like it wont do any harm having it in there. maybe make it last longer.
