Default How much hp from basic parts on a 5.0

I was looking at some parts and would like to know about how muchI could gain from them. I have a 89 notch that is stock...I want to start out by getting a 73mm maf, a 70mm tb, and a ported edelbrock intake...Then in june im going to get a full exhuast w/o cats. In the process I will be deleting the A/C and smog along with pullies, a 6G alternator, and a electric fan..

What kind of improvements canI expect to Gain. Is 50hp at the wheels getting my hopes up?

does it make a big difference to put a bigger maf, tb, and intake on an otherwise stock 5.0? i thought the real way to gain power on the 5.0s was to change heads.

heads is the biggest improvement, however the stock maf is only 55mm which is a limitation. i believe the stock tb is 60mm. you probably dont need the intake manifold yet, save up for heads in my opinion

It does not really matter if the headsare not done IMHO cause Im trying to build it right....I want to do a few little things like what i listed...than next winter it's getting ported alum. heads and a different cam....so i just want to get the bottle neck part done now even tho i might not see a lot of gains now, when my heads are done it will make a huge jump in power....

I would do the exhaust first then do the intake,MAF,and TB.U will probably notice a difference if u ad the exhaust first over the intake,MAF, and TB or atleast have a great sounding car

Ok so i will put the money i have first into the exhaust in about a month, thenfor my b-day this summer maybe I can get the intake, maf, and tb. I really can't start doing anything to it untill I can save the money and it warms up. I just wanted to get an idea so I knew which path to take...I guess I would rather have the car sound nice, than waste my money on parts that won't really do anyhting...

The intake,MAF,and TB will defintaly help but not untill u get ur heads done, cuz on a stock motor u won't really notice a difference with those parts

If ur on a budget then I heard of peoplegetting the gt40 heads and explorer intake off of I think 96-97 explorers.and the explorer intake flows i think 178cfm to where the cobra intake flows 200cfm so with a little bit of porting then it could out flow the cobra intake.and for the heads just make sure u get the non p style otherwise there r only a couple of companys that sell headers for this head cuz of the spark plug angle but i guess u still have stock headers so it might not b as big of a deal if u r getting new headers
