Block of wood on the jack, under the oil pan.

That wont crush the gasket will it? When I did my headers (I was on a lift) I lowered the car down onto this tall jack type deal (I forgot what it was called) and i used the balancer. When I did exhaust work in my garage I used a block of wood under the oil pan deal and I think thats what caused it to leak.

i would rather support the engine by a piece of wood on the oil pan then the balencer. your not going to hurt the pan or gasket, the wood distributes the weight over a larger area, not the crank snout[:@]

You'll be fine. Oh, don't forget to take the nuts off the studs of the motor mounts before you get to jacking!!! Haha
