Default 5.0 fitment question

I'm not sure if this belongs here but I currently have a 1999 V6 mustang (auto) and my dad and I are looking to do a project in the next year or so. Long story short, if I gutted the '99 V6 engine compartment out, would a 5.0 fit in there and what would be needed?

My dad was also wondering if the 4R70W tranny the V6 currently has would work with the 5.0 but I think i'd rather replace the tranny with a manual.

Thanks.

Default RE: 5.0 fitment question

The 4R70W is what they used in the Explorers and Mountaineers, both of which had 5.0s, so I would think that it would fit.
