how many times have we gone over this? they aren't that much more like 100lbs or less depending on the model of the fox... and if a stock t-5 will take a 10 sec. car you'll be fine with your t-5 behind the 347, most of it is all the driverand
ORIGINAL: 2 kwik

t-5 would be diasterious with a 347 and a heavy '94

well I was just curious, my t-5 is still holding up fine as of late, doesn't really have any signs of going out yet. I am pretty impressed with my t-5 so far actually, it has 160k miles on it, with only a 30 percent stronger clutch, and is still doing fine with 350 hp behind it. As for the 347 I am probably not going to need it for a couple years. Tonight I checked the compression on my car, and it is still at 150 (hasnt went down at all) and I have had the AFR 165s on for a little over a month. So maybe it will last for years. 94Gtcoupe how much do you think a shop would charge me to rebuild my t-5? Is there sites that sell kits for the t-5 to make them hold up to more power better?

a shop will charge about 1200 if not more, yes they sell kits to make them stronger but the gears are more brittle, i suggest not using them... the stock one will be enough if your a good driver

So they sell kits to make them stronger that actually make it weaker? lol that doesnt make sense. Would it be 1200 if I took it to them or is that including the labor to take it out and put it back in?

you ever looked into putting a t-56 in a 94 or know anyone that has? They have them on 50resto made for 79-95. Doesn't even say it requires any special parts which is weird, I wonder what all you would have to do.
