you have been misinfirmed about heads......with a set of afr 185 out of the box your looking at 45+ depending on other mods not counting the .10 quicker you'll be from just the wt reduction...heads are wear you make the power..I do agree the sc will give you about 75 on a 6 psi kit for 2500..but a turbo would be around 100hp for 3200 and could bring you 200+ with the right mods

a 10lb super charger kit from vortech is 2500. Not 4,000. But it would be dumb with stock heads. I think roundman has the right idea.

well it sounds like your in the beginning stages of a project. it would probably be best to start simply with exhaust the 3.73 gears if you plan to upgrade you intake then you'll want to upgrade your fuel system, maf throttle body. i would replace everything that's about due. fuel and brake lines all the bushings and motor mounts with polyurethane get some sub frame connectors strut tower brace. u could definatley upgrade the brakes, with cross drilled with semimetallic pads... i wouldnt do the injectors until you get a major horsepower increase the 19#rs are good for up to like 300 hp i'm pretty sure. because if you start doimg s/c or h/c/i you'll be commiting yourself to a lot with the computer upgrades and the fuel system will have to be done anyways at that point. with only 2000 extra i would hold off on the major upgrades that involve changing everything associated. and do the independant upgrades that will pay off later when you have all the money needed to do the project the right way... but thats just my opinion. and as they say opinions are like a$$ h*les... everybodys got one, and they usually stink...lol

What type of cam lift and duration do I want to look for? What about head specs?

it's always a safe bet to go with a ford racing cam, it's going to depend on what kind of driveability your looking for. do you want this thing to be a track star or do you want it to remain streetable. check out www.summitracing.com/landing/mustang/ look up under key word search ford 5.0 cam shaft
i have a b303 it's rpm range kicks in from 3300rpm-5100rpm
my suggestion would be e303 2500-5500rpm it would work out really well with 3.73 gears in the rear

the e303 cam is recommended for 5spd vehicles, and is great also for s/c applications
