Default heads

I was looking at auto zones website and was wondering if the replacement heads they offer for the 97 explorer are gt 40 thanks

Depends, they switched over in mid-'97. I'm guessing that being for the 97 model year they probably are, but I'd call autozone. They can tell you

thanks by the way how much power would the heads make on a stock motor. I do have bbk shorties, off road h- pipe flowmasters and a bbk cold air kit.

260.00 plus 100.00 core the site looks like its for both heads also says they come with a 3 angle valve job

its hard to tell, maybe 40HP. Are you going to use the stock cam and intake?

You can get more out of them if you remove the thermactor bumps from the exhaust side. You should see 35+rwhp pretty easily.
