Well im going to the great wrecking yard today.i was looking for some gt 40 heads. what year exlporer do those come on. and how do i tell if there gt-40 heads and will they completley bolt up to my stock top end. and is there anything else i should look for..

look for the intake as well, and the heads should say gt on the side of the cylinder head. or gt40P, but the gt40p's will require new headers, so a good ole pair of gt40's will do the trick. they are a direct bolt on to the 5.0 top end

get the gt40 intake of the explorer i think they are all years explorer. and it depends the gt40p heads are decent but u will need new headers jsut to put them on, and the gt40 heads when ported flow almost as well as the afr heads. so basically-gt40p97 and up explorer, gt40-anything below.

so the gt 40 heads come on any exlplorer i dont want the ones were i have to buy differnt headers..
