earlier today i was driving around and smelled gas. i looked and noticed some was coming out down the side of the car. now the tank is half empty but it seems like there is built up pressure or something pushing some back out. has this happened to anyone else?

if its comming out the passenger side, you probably have a bad filler neck grommet
if its comming out the drivers side... its time for a new tank

OK so if you can see it, where is it coming from??

it used to leak from the filler grommet and that was replaced recently. its actually spitting out from where it goes in. like i unscrewed the gas cap and some came out

Have you replaced your cap? When you unscrew it do you here a rush of air coming out of the filler neck?

Do these car have vented caps? I thought they were vented to the cabon canister(or whatever it is called)

i have never changed the cap. there is a rush of air everytime i unscrew it.
