Default 95 GT help, wont idle

I've got a problem. I changed the plugs, wires, cap, and button, and it still wont idle right. It will idle fine until it warms up, then it will jump from 500-1000 a couple times, and sometimes it will just die out. Any idea? Thanks

If you haven't made any serious alterations to your car, and you are running into this problem, it will most likely be some kind of sensor. The Idle Air Control monitors the idle on a car. You can either clean this piece out, which is a pain in the ***, or simply buy another one for around $70 bucks. I own a 95 GT as well, and it seems like these cars have a huge problem with idle surges. This problem surfaces when you modify anything affecting this IAC and sometimes the throttle positioning sensor. But I suggest focusing your efforts to the IAC. Good luck

heres a few things my friends and family have encountered that will cause this. Check for a few things. First when u start yur car... get out and walk around and listen for any hissing noises from nder the hood or under the car, this could be a vacuum leak and will cause an idle problem like on my moms cougar. Another problem ive come across was timing, check your engine and see if its TDC or however far away from it that it has to be, my friend had this problem with his 240, and i dont remember the ezxact number it was but it helped when he changed it, maybe 15 degrees or so? I dont even know what it is on the mustang but check a FSM or something like that to find out. Well hope that helped sorry it was so long
