a stock t-5 will handle most what ever y want it to if your a good driver... and the tko isn't rea;y just as cheap since u still need other things to go along with it, such as drive shaft, bell houseing, crossmember, and a different short throw

TKO swap is not that hard. I have one.

You do NOT need a new driveshaft, stock works fine.
You can use stock x-member but it has to be cut out and moved back about 2"
or you can get a $100 swap x-member that drops right in place.
You do have to swap aluminum bellhousing but they are not that expensive either.

For what you want I would just order a rebuilt T-5 from AstroPerformance.
but they will require your old one as core swap.

i don't exaxtly have experience buying a rebuilt t-5 for obvious reasons, i heard that astro is a good reliable company, i buy all my parts from DDperformance and they are great guys to do business with, i would lookin them, not sure if they sell rebuilt ones or not

I have had great success with the T-5 in all of my Mustangs, 86 SVO blew 2nd gear, but other than that, I like the trans. I guess I am looking to see what opinions are on new vs. rebuilt. Is new really any better than rebuilt? Does rebuilt mean they have replace everything or just the worn our parts?

rebuilt means they replace the syncros, bearings, seals, and anyother part with exceive wear... and no new isn't worth it, i don't see the point in spending 1300 when i can spend 200 and rebuild the one i have, or spend 600 to get a junk yard one andfix that, i personaly won't order one from a company because it's going to be cheaper for me to buy a bad one and to fix it myself, but if i didn't have the knowledge to do so then i would still buy a rebuilt one over a new one, it's just as strong and the company (a good reputable company that is) isn't going to sell something that has so much wear that it'll break in a few thousand miles
