Need Help, Weird Idle Problem.
I started having a bad surging idle problem. The idle would jump up to 2,000 RPM and stay there. I decided to take off the IAC and clean it out. Well after I did that, the car wouldn't stay running. Just by cleaning the IAC, the idle dropped ?????. So nextI decided to try and reset the base idle by disconnecting the battery and the wire that goes to the IAC. After I got the idle straightened out, I tried to reconnect the wire to the IAC and the idle jumped back up to 2,000 RPM. Why will the car run so good with the wire to the IAC disconnected? Does this sound like a TPS problem?

Run the KOEO/KOER selftests and check for any failure codes first.
