well i am having problems with my reverse lights. if the car is off but the key is on the lights will work, if it is running and i put it in reverse they will not work most of the time. i sat there the other day with it running and kept puttin it in and out of reverse and they would flash on once in a while but will not stay on, im guessing its some kind of switch or something. if anyone has any info to help me i would greatly appreciate it. i need to get this figured out so i can take it to get inspected and get it on the road!

maybe the guy that inspects it will be a moron and not know how to use a brake stick, and he'll test the lights with the car off
other than that, i'd say the cheapest place to start would be the reverse light switch.

thanks for the info man, i have been lookin for a reverse light swtich here online on the auto part store sites and i cant find one for my car. im gonna go get one in person, but its to late to go anywhere now, just seein what its gonna cost and where to go get it. any idea on where to check for it?

also where exactly on the car is the reverse light switch found? sorry for all the questions, tryin to learn all i can about these cars bc i dont know too much still

yah they're about $12 at autozone, your gonna need to know whether or not the wiring connecter is the screw-type(like the oil pressure sender) or the blade type

do you know where exactly its located? im guessin on the tranny somewhere, i have been lookin in they haynes and cannot find it anywhere

so it works w. out the car running, but with it running it is iffy? i vote bad connection/ground. when its running its vibrating... this could cause a loose connection or ground to **** up

well as you guys can see im not very mechanically inclined with solvin these types of things, especially electrical things. where abouts would i look to check for a bad ground?

just trace the wires from the switch on the tranny(top front drivers side) as far as you can, look for any bad connections, bare wire, etc etc...

sounds good, maybe i will go into work early tomorrow and get my car out and put it on the lift and check it out. gotta get my stock midpipe back in with the cats this weekend and hopefully get it to inspection maybe next week so i can get it tagged and get it to cecil

o **** dude i just realized you were in rising sun(i think we talked a while ago about cecil)... yea i need to pass emissions still too, lol. but yea man get that thing tagged and run it! lol. ill be there this friday and next friday ill be on DRs
