yea the recon pft is hard as hell..... the three basic tests are 3 mile run in 18 min..... 500meter doggy padle swim in 14 min.... and 100 sit ups in 2 min then theres sum other small things....

You'll be doing regular PFTs as well, at least in boot. Standard PFT is pullups, crunches, 3mi run, in that order. A perfect 300 is 20/100/18:00

As far as pullups go, check out the Armstrong program. Intensive, but it took me to 20 faster than anything else would have. Crunches, well, if the guy is holding your feet right you should be able to max those already. Your recruiter can show you proper form. As far as running goes there are a lot of different approaches, check out Hal Higdon's 5k program, or one of many others. www.coolrunning.com has a ton of good info.
