What is the purpose of this? What are the advantages and dis advantages?

lighter, therefore less rotating mass, I only upgraded because my u-joints were bad on the stocker and it had a dent in the side of it

like said above, saves weight and technicaly allows the car to accelerate faster. good upgrade if ur stock d/s is crap or if you're puttin down a good amount of power

I've heard they are stronger than stock driveshafts, and because they are lighter you put more power to the ground.

if your car vibrates like most do over 80 then it is worth it and it is better also for when you start to put alot more crap on your car plus like he said it is less rotating mass which is always a benifit

You could change them out on 99% of guys cars back to a stock driveshaft overnight and they would never know the difference, on the street or on the track. I have gone 10'0s with a bone stock driveshaft for years and years.

i didn't notice any difference power wise when i changed mine. Less vibration at high speeeds, i would use money toward something else.
