I'd say that you could take him though I dont know your driving style. Of course if he flipped his last car then he cant be that good lol. plus Tiburons are crap. tons of people have them where I live, (mostly stupid high schoolers whose parents have deep pockets and buy them everything) so they only have simple mods such as cut springs, fart can mufflers and halfassed body kits that are either unpainted or put on wrong...occasionally one will have a crappy set of rims from sears... lol...
but you totally have him, hell I probally could take one of those CKC's (crappy Korean cars) in my Beater buick land-yaht...with its three speed autotransmission and tendency to stall... hah (mustang is still being fixed up...[&o])

I've seen thestick shifted v6 tiberons run 18's at the track. I think that guy would be luck to run a 16. I think you'd have him no problem. When I went to licoln tech we dyno'd one and I remember it put down less then 100hp at the wheels.

my stock 95 cobra stomped the **** outta my friends stock gt tiburon...so if u have the same mods as he does ull beat him for sure... its got that lil v6 the exhuast he added probably didnt even give him more than 10 rwhp..... well if u get a full exhuast cai and underdrive pulleys and u know how to drive your car id but money on u everytime

i have to say that my wife has a 2003 gt tiburon and it is a very quick car. she is not a very god driver but one day from a roll she got on it and left me in a hurry.
i raced my buddies 2000 mustang gt in it with full magnaflow a chip cold air underdrive pulleys and 4:10s and i was a very close race
