thanks for reminding me what stall coverter would be good for my stang?whats wrong with the thumper they flow better thang the gt40x? I would try to get some cobras and have them ported but there isnt much here in kansas. if i spend anywere near 1000 for some head ill just wait a little long and get afr's. im not looking to spend very much on this car. and no supercharger or turbo will ever be on this car.

yea windsor juniors are good heads too, but save a little more for the afr's honestly there is no head like it. then get a small cam like an e or b cam, or trick flow stage 1 or even the steeda 19. then a gt40 intake with the same 5.0 badge on it from the stock one, noone will tell the difference. then get 410's and a stall and valve body and u will be hittin 12's all day.

Just get GT-40 heads and intake out of an explorer at a junkyard and then send the heads to thumper. Thumper ported GT-40's outflow pretty much everything. Port the intake to match and go with a trickflow cam to complement the gt-40's. Do your basic bolt ons, gears, shift kit, 3200 stall on DR's or slicks, then run a nice suspension setup and your in the twelves easily. You wanna run a 125 shot over that and you would see 11's on the right tune.

the problem is, and ive learned this over the course of this week, that u cant rely on just a flow bench test, a ported gt40 head will not beat a stock afr head, on the track it just wont. but its still cheaper and u can still get some good power from them.

i think that 3200 stall would be a lil much for me. i think that would kill my gas. plus what is the differnece between a lockup and non lockup coverter??? ill probibly go with the steeda cam. what years of explorers have the gt40 heads, i DONT want the p's. Also what car has a better alt. that will work on my 94? mine is to weak the guage keeps boucing around and all i have is a 400watt walmart system. Im going to email thumper and see how much it is to port the heads and intakes, but how much do you think they will charge me to port, valve job, and new springs? thanks for all the help so far. o and is a wet system really that much better than a dry???

If I were you I would go with a 3500 rpm stall especially since you are wanting to do an H/C/I swap. Check out http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/ ,I've gota custom built 3000 rpm stall from them and it is awesome. No loss in gas mileage or anything, just pure tire smoking performance.

first of all stay away from the cobra intake
second of all why hide anything?
sleeper=no wheels,no cowl hood, no wing, no vortech stickers
sleeper=stock look, w/twin turbo under the hood

One possible method: use direct port injection and get one of the kits that are hidden like this...
