8.8 carrier

Does anyone know if the stock 8.8 carrier needs to be upgraded when changing gears from stock to 4:10?

I dont believe so, as long as the 4:10 for and 8.8 i think your ok, but maybe someone else with more knowledge on this could help......

I went from 2.73's to 4.10's a few months ago and used the same parts except the bearings (got a Richmond kit) and had the traction lock unit (posi) rebuilt.

nope you can use the stock trac locker for 4:10sthe only thing you can't do is change the spider gears from 28 spline to 31

you dont have to but the stock trac lock is pretty $hity imo. at the very least have it rebuilt. the kits are only $50
