i imagne the engines for the chevs, chryslers, fords and amc's were engineered by the same peeps anyhow...my great uncle worked as an engineer for both ford and chrysler at various times during his career.

Granetelli sells a pickup that goes in place of the pump for $95. It has 5/8 feed tube and 3/8 return tube. It should support a huge amount of hp and won't be a huge restriction like the stock pump would be.

I'm gonna drop the tank tomorrow and see if I can modify the fuel pump to just alow fuel to flow through it. If not, i will be buying that tank insert...i want to get away from using an electric fuel pump.

You can remove the pump from the assembly, and take some fuel line (& hose clamps) and make a pick up. I took a metal, double male connector and put it at the end of the line so wont collaps when sucking up fuel. Mine works fine.

Just curious....did you use the black rubber fuel line or that clear plastic "aquarium" line?

The black stuff. The aquarium line may not be stiff enough and may collaps.

If you do that and go with the pump on the motor thing be prepared for higher fuel temps and possible vapor lock my friend. At least get an inline electric one.
