12 Sec./ Stock Axle?s
Does anybody have stock axles and run 12's in the 1/4? Im want to run my car but I get worried because everything in theses cars are so fragile (T-5, axles). I just bought some strange 10 way adjustable shocks and getting ready to buy some MT's drag radials but scared of my axles and my tranny. Are they really that fragile?

Lets put it this way, they could hold up you could end up in a wall. I've seen 3 mustangs in 1 night break axles at cecil county dragstrip. If your going to run sticky tires I'd run 31 splines just for piece of mind.

yes they are that fragile. i was going to turn my car into street/strip. looked to cost about 1500. 31 spline 5 lug axles, 31 spline t-lock, dif cover adjuster, rear control arms, drive shaft loop, long studs for axles, don't forget NHRA requires METAL valve stems, The stock tranny isn't going to last long. I called Master Transmission and he says you can go to the track 4 times and he guranteeds it will be missing 3rd gear after that. They aren't made for the track at all. When your at the track you always see atleast one car with 4 bolt break all 4 lugs off...5 lug is a must especially at that speed. just trying to save u some time on research cause i've spent lots and lots on it. i decided it was going to cost 4200 with a decent new tranny, the list above, and some new rims out back with slicks...

Not really,,, The axles should be fine.. I do recomend c-clip eliminators though. I have Ford axles, 4.30 ford gears and a mini-spool and I havent had a problem yet,,,, And if I do??? Oh well... Dont play if you dont want to pay!
]Dam this 5.0 project has become more expensive than I thought!!! I might sell the 5.0 and work on my 4.6[&o]

Mine runs low 12's w/ stock axles. It all depends on how hard you launch nad how sticky the tires are though
Will be upgrading to 31 spline stuff soon though.
